February 28, 2023: -On Sunday, Elon Musk, the SpaceX CEO of Tesla and Twitter, accused “the media” and “big universities and high schools” of being “racist” against white and Asian people, expressing his views without providing evidence.
Musk posted his remarks on Twitter, where he boasts nearly 130 million followers, in answer to news that media organizations all over the country decided to slash the comic strip “Dilbert” from syndication after its creator, Scott Adams, provided a racist tirade in a clip on his YouTube channel in the previous week.
In the video, Adams spoke up about a poll conducted by right-leaning Rasmussen Reports that stated 26% of Black answered disagreed with the statement, “It’s OK to be white.”
The phrase stated in their poll has been labelled a “hate slogan” by the Anti-Defamation League. In his video, Adams stated about the Black people who rejected that sentence as a “hate group.”
Adams also said that he chose to live in a community where less or no Black people lived and then told his white viewers to “get away from Black people,” saying he did not “want to have anything to do with them.”
Adams’ video was written during Black History in the US, established by President Gerald Ford, as a period to honour the struggles and contributions of Black Americans.
Today, the news outlets that decreased “Dilbert” were The Los Angeles Times, The Oregonian, the Washington Post and USA.
