Brad Pitt trades much of his Plan B production firm to French media partnership Mediawan

December 13, 2022: -Brad Pitt deals nearly 60% of his production firm, Plan B Entertainment, to French media empire Mediawan in an agreement set to be stated this week, according to people known with the matter.

The deal, which was signed, values Plan B in the hundreds of millions but less than $500 million, people stated, who questioned not to be named due to the talks being private.

Brad Pitt, the famous actor and now the founder of Plan B in 2001 with his former-wife Jennifer Aniston, who is also an actor famously known in the series “Friends” and the ex-manager Brad Grey, who expired in 2017.

Pitt was the sole owner, following him and Aniston, ending up in a divorce.

The production firm has helped make movies and TV series over the past two decades, which include Academy Award-winning movies such as “The Departed” and “12 Years a Slave.” It’s produced numerous films released this year, which include Netflix’s “Blonde,” a fictionalized take on Marilyn Monroe, and “She stated,” which detailed The New York Times’ investigation of assault sexually in Hollywood.

For TV, Plan B’s productions include HBO’s 2014 adaptation of “The Normal Heart,” directed by Ryan Murphy, and Amazon Prime Video’s 2021 miniseries “The Underground Railroad.”

Independent production studios have made hot acquisition properties as significant media companies build out their streaming services.

Mediawan is a studio that produces movies, TV series, and other content in Europe and the U.S. It owns over 60 production labels and is co-founded by Chairman Pierre Antoine-Capton.
