September 23, 2019: The Retail industry valued at USD 3,600 billion by 2020. Would there be a better market to compete and showcase the rivalry? As the technology adoption in the Retail industry is increasing by a thousand folds, the software giant Microsoft has come up with an e-commerce product to compete with Amazon.

Analyzing the needs of the customers and focusing on the future use Microsoft has come up with an advanced product of Dynamics 365 for retail customers – “Dynamics 365 Commerce” a one-stop solution for retailers to manage their business online. A retail platform would work better when we have customer interaction and feedback inbuilt in it, the Dynamics 365 Commerce is built with customer feedback, ratings, and review option which will make the retailers calculate the performance of the product listed online.

We would see the e-commerce business would run smoothly if we have a good online presence and Microsoft is addressing the same to simplify the process.

Microsoft launched Azure to compete with AWS in the early stage and this move of launching the Dynamic 365 commerce would help them to stay a step ahead in the competition. Would only the e-commerce platform do the job? Not exactly, the software giant has also launched a product called “Dynamics 365 Connected Store” which will help the retailer to understand the customer activity with the use of camera and sensors present within the store. This connected devices will communicate the information to the employee for better customer service.

Retail giants like Walmart, Walgreens, Marks and Spencer, Kroger and many more are already Azure customer and are focusing to build strong relation with Microsoft than giving business to Amazon. A simplified and personalized experience for retailers by proving Dynamic 365 commerce and advanced connected device solution for retailers with Dynamics 365 connected store is been the focus of the software giant towards the retail industry.

There would be a competitive environment after the product launch from companies like Adobe which acquired Magento recently.

“Dynamics 365 Commerce is an expansion of Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 for Retail, which focused on supply chain management, staffing, and promotions. Microsoft started developing the new technology following conversations with customers about a year and a half ago” Alysa Taylor, a corporate vice president at Microsoft.

The healthy rivalry would lead to providing advanced technologies and we can look for more growth in the retail industry in 2020.
