November 09, 2022: -Venture capitalist Chris Sacca, one of the initial investors in Twitter and evangelist of the site, stated Elon Musk needs people around him willing to “speak a few truths to power” because the company’s problems are too tiny for him to solve on his own.
On Monday, in a tweet thread, Sacca said he’s always admired Musk and referred to electric carmaker Tesla as “world positive.” Sacca is the founder of Lowercarbon Capital, which funds alternative energy and tolerable technologies.
“His success to date is not an accident,” Sacca stated to his 1.6 million adherents.
But the challenges run a popular social-messaging service such as Twitter require a level of nuance and human knowledge that Musk has yet to demonstrate, Sacca stated.
“Batteries and engines and rockets and tunnels and solar panels have `definitive answers,” Sacca stated. “Success criteria can be objectively measured,” Sacca added.
According to Sacca, he is creating effective policies requiring bringing in people with different viewpoints who are permitted to challenge each other. And for the Tesla CEO to be successful, he requires people in his inner orbit to give him honest feedback and help him identify mistakes.
“The only way I see that occurring is if anyone around Elon can speak a few truths to power and complete his bold and enterprising emotions with desperately needed nuance,” Sacca added. “Humans aren’t math and physics problems.”
Although Sacca stated he’s “never been a fan” of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, keeping “smart people close” who occasionally offer advice.
The “hard truth” for Elon Musk is that “he is straight-up alone at present and winging this,” Sacca wrote.
While Sacca concerning about the future of the app that he initially backed in 2006, he would see Musk make decisions for the sake of the business.
“Twitter is not going to get better for users, the advertisers are not coming back at scale, and his massive investment just is not going to pay off unless there is a genuine dialogue which leads to thoughtful progress and stability,” Sacca added.
