Gunfire reported near Portland protest early Monday

July 27, 2020: Two were taken to custody after the gunfire near the protesting site in Portland. Responding to the gunfire in the downtown police officers have taken the victim to the private hospital to get treated.

The protest continues towards the 60th night after the death of George Floyd in the police custody. The protestors using a laser gun has made two of the police officers go permanently blind as the protestors used to target the laser beam to their eyes.

“As police were securing the scene a person arrived at a hospital by private vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound, non-life-threatening,” police said in a statement. “That person seems to have been associated with the incident near SW 4th Avenue and SW Salmon Street. Portland Police are still investigating.”

Police said they found a bag with loaded magazines and cocktails at a nearby park and, the same as shown in social media. The protest started peacefully on Sunday night and covered the courthouse in Portland. Monday morning protestors became more violent and started breaking the fence and throwing fireworks onto the building that was further controlled by the officials by deploying tear gas and flash bangs and warned the protestors to stay off the federal property.
