Amazon, Tesla, and Google to compete in the electric car market

Amazon, Tesla, and Google to compete in the electric car market

July 22, 2020: We have recently seen the announcement of Amazon buying the electric car manufacturer Zoox for a $1.2billion deal. Amazon had this plan to buy the electric-car manufacturers to improve its logistics and supply chain. Amazon relied more on third-party logistics service providers like FedEx and UPS to deliver the products. However, last year the company created its own logistics department to deliver the products.

Amazon has delivered more than 3.5milliom products in the previous year. It will surpass FedEx and UPS combined by the end of 2022. The company will have the largest market in the logistics space. We can expect drone delivery technology shortly from Amazon. The company is already using automated trucks to deliver the products in some parts of the United States.

Zoox acquisition is one of the best to deal with in the recent past from any company. Amazon focuses on automating the logistics process that will cut the expense spent on truck deliveries. Zoox cars are already seen in the streets driving without drivers and, if they could design the self-driven trucks for Amazon, that would be the icing on the cake.

Also, the electric vehicle market is the next future and, the leading company Tesla is already ahead followed by Google and, now Amazon joins the race with advancement through Zoox acquisition.
