November 9, 2020: The first move from President Biden and Vice president Kamala Harris announced the formation of advisory board members to better handle the pandemic situation in the United States. The board will be led by co-chairs Dr. David Kessler, who served in both the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations as FDA commissioner; Dr. Vivek Murthy, the surgeon general under the Obama administration; and Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, an associate professor of internal medicine, public health and management at Yale University.

The move is based on the recent counts of the United States hitting 10 million and over 237,000 deaths according to John Hopkins University.

“Dealing with the coronavirus pandemic is one of the most important battles our administration will face, and I will be informed by science and by experts,” Biden said press conference. “The advisory board will help shape my approach to managing the surge in reported infections; ensuring vaccines are safe, effective, and distributed efficiently, equitably, and free; and protecting at-risk populations.”

Ending the pandemic was the point of attraction in Biden campaign, considering the current situation and who would handle the pandemic situation better Biden would have won the majority of the vote as Trump failed to control the spread of the coronavirus.

The board will come up with a plan to beat the coronavirus, Personal protection is the next agenda, and plans on investing in Vaccines will be decided. President Trump, earlier in April, did mention the Defense Production Act to increase the production of health equipment required for treating the patients and helping in infrastructure and supply chain during this pandemic situation.
