June 4, 2020: Upgraded charge against Chauvin and three other former police officers charged second-degree murder as per Minnesota officials on Wednesday. The news spread all around but there was a mixed reaction from the protestors across the country. While some of the protestors expressed happiness on the charges put on the former police officers, however, they also do mention saying it is just a start and this protest is going to last long till there is a clear law been enforced by the government to stop the racism and police brutality across the United States.
Some protestors also made a statement saying it would not happen and the police officers would not have been charged if people would not come forward for the protest. Few also mentioned that the former officers should have been let for first-degree murder charges. The Minnesota officials also drafted a report of all the former officers with details on how was their life before hiring and what is their history working in the department.
The former officer Chauvin was fired from the department on the same day following the removal of the other three former officers the next day. After examining the video the police department has come up with the report and submitted with all details on their history and the charge on the miss conduct and overuse of the police force.
